Powerfully Green converted our Prius to a plug-in electric hybrid with ReGo because being a responsible energy user is part of living sustainably on the earth. We choose to produce the electricity for our home and office from a clean, renewable solar energy source. By choosing a plug-in hybrid we can now power our car with the sun! We already owned a Prius, so felt there was no need to purchase a new car just because electric vehicles are coming onto the market. Our ReGo conversion gives us the flexibility to drive fully electric, hybrid electric, or drive long trips as needed.
We live in the suburbs and travel a lot for our work, so we end up doing a lot of highway driving.
We currently get 46 mpg with regular hybrid driving. So far we’re getting 55 mpg after the conversion, but we’re still tweaking the battery pack and our charging schedule. We’re hoping that in time we’ll be able to charge the vehicle more than once a day, so more of our driving will be solar-powered electricity.
When we are able to drive in-town without getting on the highways, our mileage is noticeably higher.
With our ReGo conversion, Shayna, Alex and Garrett helped us learn a few things about getting the most out of our hybrid vehicle, and we’re still learning. ReGo is breaking new ground, and careful to keep customer service at the very forefront of what is important.
